We've talked about the horrible crimes of violence in the news; the killings in Milford Mass. and the nursing home massacre last weekend. Are acts such as these the result of too many guns in too many hands or is the issue of guns irrelevant to these acts of random violence? React to this statement one way or another. We know guns don't kill people; people kill people. However, is the easy access to firearms a contributing factor in these horrific acts of violence.

The easy access to firearms definitely plays a significant factor in the random acts of violence in this country. While it is your second amendment right to own a firearm I believe that there can be measures taken to keep Americans safer, such as limiting the amount you can own and cutting production. Sure people kill people but how do they kill people?
ReplyDeleteIt is the truth that guns do help in the process of murder, and even suicide. But although it helps it is not the prime factor that causes these things. I think that it is mostly the people who obtain and use the said weapons. Although it is slightly to easy to access guns I believe we could just tighten the gun laws maybe in hopes that this would prevent even if it is a small amount of people to stop the violence in today's society.
ReplyDeleteI think that no matter what happens, if someone wants to hurt someone else then they wont need a gun to do it. I think that people should be able to buy guns.

ReplyDeleteI believe that it isn't the fact that there are too many guns in circulation I think that it is the ease of how someone can obtain a firearm. Someone in New York can walk down a dark alley way with 50 bucks and get a pistol out of the trunk of some dudes car with the serial numbers scratched off. Firearm laws or not people would still be able to obtain a gun with ease. Lets look at it this way Guns Don't Kill People, Fathers with pretty daughters do! -Jake
